Pirates Sign Kicker Alejandro Mata
ORLANDO, FL - The Orlando Pirates have signed kicker Alejandro Mata. Mata, who went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft, played three seasons at the University of Colorado and scored 204 career points for the Buffalos. He finished his time in Boulder with the school’s second best extra point percentage at 98.2.

Mata, who hails from Buford, GA, set a Colorado record with 103 consecutive made extra points. In his 30 game career with the Buffs he made 110 of 112 extra points and had a success rate of 81.5 percent on field goals going 31 of 38.
As a junior in 2024, the 5'10", 190 lb. kicker was a perfect 55 of 55 on PAT's. He also equaled his career long field goal with a 47 yarder. At the end of the season he was an All-Big 12 Coaches Honorable Mention Place Kicker.
In his first season at Colorado in 2023 he made 10 of 12 field goals including a 47-yard kick against Utah and a game winner on the final play of the game vs. Arizona State.
Mata began his collegiate career at Jackson State where he was a second team All-SWAC selection while earning third team FCS Freshman All-America honors. That season in 13 games he made 12 of 13 field goal attempts and 50 of 51 extra points.
