EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - The Orlando Pirates will look to rebound from Monday’s loss to Vegas with a victory on Sunday at the American Dream Arena at 12:00 p.m. in the second round of the inaugural Indoor Football League Cup. The Pirates (4-3) are seeking their first victory away from home since defeating the New Mexico Chupacabras to open the 2026 IFL campaign. Orlando has lost its last three road games this season. The Chupacabras enter Sunday’s contest at 1-6, amidst a four-game losing streak, sitting in sixth place in the IFL Western Conference.

ORLANDO, FL - The Orlando Pirates have signed former Florida State wide receiver Ja’ Khi Douglas.  Douglas signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants of the National Football League in 2025. After going to minicamp with the Giants he signed a contract with the DC Defenders of the UFL.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - Competing in their inaugural Indoor Football League Cup game on Monday night, the Orlando Pirates suffered their third defeat of the 2026 season at the hands of the Vegas Night Hawks, 73-33 at the American Dream. Orlando’s (4-3) three touchdowns in the first quarter weren’t enough, as both sides of the ball struggled the remainder of the game, while Vegas (6-1) erupted for 45 points in the second half to reach the championship game of the IFL’s first-ever in-season tournament.

ORLANDO, FL - The Pirates have signed former NFL defensive back Tyree Gillespie. Gillespie was selected in the fourth round of the 2021 National Football League Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders (143rd overall) after playing four seasons at the University of Missouri.

He comes back to Orlando after having played in two games with the Columbus Aviators in the UFL this year. O’Neal Jr. started this IFL season on the Pirates roster.

ORLANDO, FL - Teo Redding’s circus catch with no time remaining was the difference in the Orlando Pirates 60-57 victory over the Fishers Freight at the Kia Center. The Pirates trailed the Freight 57-54 with four seconds remaining. Quarterback Paxton DeLaurent threw a one-yard pass to the left corner of the end zone and Redding went up and over the wall, making the catch to give the Pirates win. Orlando (3-3) remains undefeated at home this season and a perfect 3-0 all-time over the Freight who fall to 5-3 on the year.

ORLANDO, FL - The Orlando Pirates have added four veteran coaches to their staff. Former Pirates Interim Head Coach Frederick Griggs joins as a Senior Defensive Assistant. Former San Antonio Gunslingers Head Coach James Fuller will serve as Special Teams Coordinator and as Senior Advisor to the Defensive Staff. Jason Simpson joins Orlando as a Co-Defensive Coordinator and former Orlando Predators and Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver and kick returner Bobby Sippio comes aboard as a Senior Offensive Assistant.

ORLANDO, FL - The Orlando Pirates look to continue two streaks and stop another when they host the Fishers Freight on Saturday at the Kia Center at 6:00 pm. The Pirates (3-2) look to remain undefeated at home as they have won both games at the Kia Center this season. The Pirates also have never lost to Fishers. Orlando has lost its  last two games which were on the road. The Freight enter with a 5-2 record and are currently in third place in the Eastern Division of the Indoor Football League, just one spot in front of the Pirates.

ORLANDO, FL - The Orlando Pirates have signed three defensive backs during their bye week. Two bring years of experience to the organization. Javaris Davis is a veteran who played in the National Football League, Corrion Ballard, who was previously with the Pirates, has played several games in the XFL and UFL, and Tahveon Nicholson most recently was in Rookie Minicamp with the Cleveland Browns last season.
