Pirates Sign OL Cole De Magistris
ORLANDO, FL - The Orlando Pirates have signed offensive lineman Cole De Magistris. De Magistris joined the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League in March and became available after being released during their final roster cuts.

De Magistris played collegiately at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT for two seasons as a graduate student before signing in the CFL. He started all 12 games for the Pioneers in 2025 for the Yankee Conference Cup Champions and was a member of the CSC All-District Team. He helped protect quarterback Jack Snyder who finished fifth in FCS completion percentage at 71.2 percent. His blocking enabled the running game to be sixth with 217 yards per game. In 2024 he was a starter in all 11 games.
The 6'3", 300 lb. product of Emmerson, NJ started his career at Bates University in Lewiston, ME. A member of the program in 2020, he saw action from 2021 through 2023 due to the pandemic. All three seasons he was a NESCAC Fall All-Academic Selection.
In 2021 he played in nine games and served as a long snapper for the Bobcats. He became a team captain in 2022 playing in nine games. An injury limited him to just three games the following season. Still he was named to the NFF Hampshire Honor Society. He Graduated from Bates in 2024 with a double major in Economics and Rhetoric and Film and Screen Studies. He was also the Senior Scholar Award Winner having participated in varsity sports for four years with a GPA of 3.50 or better. He was also a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, college football's premier scholar-athlete award.
De Magistris has already been in the National Football League serving as an intern with the Minnesota Vikings as he has aspirations of working in a team's front office.
